 THE CAMP Chapter 12-14. It was night ready and we were all prepared for the social night. I was sleeping when I heard the sound of the beagle that we should move out of our hostels and head straight to the parade ground because the program was about to start. I left the hostel and saw Ben at the gym with other guys, he was seriously buildng tissues and sweating profusely.  I watched them for a while before walking away. I called Britney and Yetunde on my way and they joined me. "We should get some snacks before going to sit down" Yetunde suggested. We got to mammy Market and at the same place we wanted to buy snacks and drinks, we met the lady I met on the way earlier and her friends, they started whispering into one another's ears the moment they saw three of us.   Suddenly I heard. Yetunde won't allow me to get angry in peace without interfering the frequency.  Anyways everyone need that special friend that'll have your mumu button to make you smile even when you are angry. Chapter  6-8. 3 days went by without hearing from Britney, I thought my being in camp would be jeopardised if I kept wallowing in her thoughts so I broke free from the thought of her and mingled with others.  I wasn't attached to anyone, I claimed no class nor standard, I just wanted to go to camp to have fun.  I was a lone guy. It was time for registration, although people had started their registration from day 1 but it was a place that almost 5k people would be on the queue under the scorching turn waiting for their turn. I coukdnt afford to waste such time under he sun when I still have 21 days to myself. When almost everyone had finished their registration,  it remained very few of us then I went for mine,  that was on my 5th day in camp. I was on the queue  when the coordinator separated us from foreign students.  People started pulling out of the queue and joining the foreign student queue,  there was a lady that stood infro...

 THE CAMP Chapter 5. She wallowed on the bed, the pain was obvious. I moved closer to her and held her hand, her leg was heavy to carry, she shed tears like cold bottle. "Sorry dear, did they give you any pain killer or something " "Ade...I don't know, I am in serious pain, please call my dad, I am in pain, these people want to kill me" she reached for her phone in her pocket and handed it over to me, it was the moment I got scared. Maybe something else has done her or maybe she has underlying sickness that no one is aware of except her parents. My hand fidget with the phone as I struggled to unlock with her password . On the other hand, I thought of informing the doctors and the corp member doctor I met said she had given her pain killer and she should be fine, I was fine with that until she said that next time she will obey when orders are given.  THE CAMP.  Chapter 4. Britney was clad in a night pajamas with slippers on. I watched as the lady soldier yelled at her as she squat and stand at regular intervals.  I hope I could do something but there was nothing I could do, she was just a fragile lady that wanted to come to her fatherland to meet new people and have fun, not knowing there are rules and consequences to every action. I was lost in staring at them as the soldiers fishes out people from different hostels to join them.  I suddenly heard a voice beside me. "Guh...guy...Lower your head, one soldier don enter" the guy beside me whispered.   I lowered my head immediately,  the soldier guy moved around to make sure no head was up, no light was on and probably everyone had slept.  What a way of starting the day in the camp, is this how I'll spend 21 days here? These thoughts eroded my mind, I couldn't sleep because i was concerned about Britney because scream coming from those receiving...

 THE CAMP.  Chapter 3. She ran after me but I didn't wait. "Ade stop! What's going on? Have we done anything to offend you? I stopped and turned. "What did you all exclaim? What's so funny in not attending a university, if i am not cleared do you think I'll be here?" I poured out. She panted hard as she moved closer.  ""You know we don't mean it that way and aside that we didn't know  there is any other school here aside university,  I'm sorry, you know what? Let me just go and discharge them and I'll come back to you, I don't wanna leave you like this, you've been so helpful today" she said and ran back to meet them. I watched them from afar as they bid themselves good bye. She came back to me and suggested we sit at the pavilion which was few steps away from the hostel. We sat and I was quiet, she tapped me and told me to stop giving her silent treatment. I gave a faint smile. "A polytechnic is diploma issuing...

 THE CAMP. Episode 2. She rested her head on my shoulder and slept off.  Her head was heavy on my tired shoulder, maybe because of her long bunch of braids or her fat cheeks added to her big skull. I tried adjusting but she seemed to have crossed to the dream land. I endured and concentrated on the woman. She continued. "Mind the way you talk to people here and watch your tongues, words are like swords, when they hit their target  they leave a scare that is if they didn't kill their victim, be nice to people and keep mute when angry instead of saying what you would regret for the rest of your life..." She suddenly looked up and saw the lady resting her Head on my shoulder  She fury. "See these ones,  they are already doing love in the camp in the first day, wake her up now, do you think you are in your father's house?"  People diverted their attention to us and started giggling.  I shook her and she woke up. I could see the tiredness in her eyes. ...

 THE CAMP. 1 We entered into the nysc camp with our loads on our heads, this was a directive from one of the slim soldier with red eyes and veins carving a thunderous strike on his arm under the afternoon scorching sun. Equity found its way as there were no differences between the rich and the poor,  we were treated the same way. Even the ones that came out from their father's exotic jeeps and those of us rushing down from the half baked bus without absorbers that we boarded to the camp. Looking beside me was a beautiful family of father,  mother and a very small boy waving at their daughter in tears as she found her way to the gate. I remember the woman  screaming when the soldier yelled at their daughter to raise her bag and put it on her head. One could tell that she had never used her arm for anything stressful the way she fidget while lifting the heavy big box that she carried as if she would not leave camp again.
