 THE CAMP Chapter 9-11.

Yetunde won't allow me to get angry in peace without interfering the frequency.  Anyways everyone need that special friend that'll have your mumu button to make you smile even when you are angry.

Britney stared at me as I laughed.  

"Oh, see who is laughing, I think Yetunde discovered alot about you while I was away " she said and faced Yetunde.

"Yetunde,  will you teach me how to make him smile just the way you did now? I don't like the way he got angry today, it was my fault"

"Don't worry, I will teach you" she replied jokingly. 

It was time for drama rehearsal, I was called on the phone to come over to the location where the rehearsal would take place, I stood up and told the ladies I would be going for drama.

Yetunde walked me down the pavilion and held my hand.

"Ade, hope you will be fine?" She asked and I nodded in affirmation.  

"I have to go back to the training ground, I'm sure they'll be looking for me, Britney,  hope you will take care of him since you are in same drama group" she asked.

"Yes I will, thank you Yetunde " she said.

Yetunde left for her training and we headed to our drama location.  On the way, she clocked her fingers into mine as we walked to the location.

"Ade,  hope you are no more angry, please forgive me, I didn't mean to hurt you " she apologised as she rubbed my back. I wrapped my hand around her neck and we walked together.

The rehearsal was a success and it was night fall already, I wanted to go for my food in the kitchen, she suggested we get some snacks at mammy market and chill somewhere to talk. I was tired  but her expression didn't give me a choice so I followed her.

We got to mammy Market and got some snacks, we went to her dry cleaner's corner, he had a small bench there. We sat there with our snacks and started talking.

"I was transported to the hospital when the crisis started, i couldnt lift my legs, i knew you would be worried but we forgot to exchange numbers, no one would have known if not Ben that called my mum, they wanted to come but i was getting better then so the doctor told then it wasnt that serious."

Then I wondered how Ben  got her parent's number. I was about asking when Yetunde's message came in. 

"Hi Ade, I just saw you with Britney now, I don't want to disrupt your conversation, we'll  see tomorrow " I looked around but couldn't find her.

"How did Ben have your mum's number? " I asked.

She stuttered.

"Britney,  I just want to know how he got your mum's number and that's it" I asked.

"Ben was my boyfriend back in school but we broke up due to a reason, my parents knows him and he comes to our house them, he cheated on me and I broke up with him, he has been stalking me since then, I later got to know that he came to Nigeria to serve because of me, I was also shocked when I saw him here but what choice do I have" she explained.

At that point, I knew my stand and what I might get into if I get myself involved in her so I concluded within me that it won't more than a friend.  

It was getting late, I suggested we go to bed. I walked her to her hostel, she dragged me to a corner where there was no light and wanted to kiss me, I flipped back my head to avoid.

She apologised 

"I'm.sorry"

I was surprised. 

"Why did you want to do that??"

"I don't know, I'm sorry" she said and ran inside.

I didn't feel good about the kiss

Something wasn't right. 

I brought out my phone and called Yetunde,  I told her about it and she asked me to wait for her beside the water tank which I did.

She met me there few minutes later and we talked about it, she told me not to take it to heart and shouldn't attach emotions to it.

When she was about leaving she hugged me and kissed me.

 If Britney can't have you,  I will" 

She said.

THE CAMP. Episode 10

Yetunde planted her lips on mine and looked straight into my eyes and said if Britney cannot have me then she will.

I was stunned.

"What are you talking about Yetunde, you are my friends and I am here to tell you what she wanted to do, now you kissed me and said what I don't understand." 

She chuckled.

"It's okay if that is what you want, let's keep it as friends but that did not change the fact that I know I like you but you like Britney, is it because she's based in abroad? Is that why?" She quizzed and left me speechless. 

I felt what she was feeling at the moment, I held her hand and told her that she was getting it wrong, I just want to be in camp and enjoy my stay, I didn't want to get into any love triangle. She didn't say anything,her silence said alot. She stared at her feet and bruise the floor with her leg.

I drew her closer and hugged her. 

There was a kind of feeling that arouse on my body whenever I hug her, she use to submit herself totally into my body and rest everything on me like someone that found solace. She hugged me and wrapped her hands around me with her head on my chest.

"I'm sorry Yetunde, you are an amazing lady, let's make this a friendship thing and see how things work out" i said and she nodded in affirmation . I have learnt that I shouldn't be the first to let go of a hug but in this case I didn't want to be caught by the soldier let alone serving frog jump as punishment. 

I broke free from her and watched her going into her hostel, I went to mine too. I opened my phone and saw Britney's message.

"Ade, it seems you don't like me, you broke my heart tonight by rejecting my advances, I really wanted to kiss you so bad but you didn't think twice before you flipped back your head, you aren't attracted to me right? I understand, I know you like Yetunde more, I see the way she makes you laugh and I guess she likes you too because I see the way she looks at you., but it's fine anyways, please  don't just chase me away like that, I still love to be around you, you make me feel I have an elder brother in camp, do have a wonderful night rest. I love you"

I read this message and had a cheapish smile. 

Britney is a lady any guy would want to kill for, but I didn't feel any connection to her nor Yetunde. Maybe because I just finished nurturing a heartbreak few days to camp and I saw camp as an escape route to get out of my depression. 

My heart was blocked like a bastard that was just flogged.

I wanted to heal and have fun, I never expected emotions would be flowing around. I felt nothing. 

What would a broken heart feel when emotions are already leaking away from it. 

I read the message and didn't reply, I didn't see anything special in it. 

It was some minutes to light out, I was viewing my gallery when a hand touched my leg, I jumped up and I saw Ben standing at the base of my bunk staring at me like a depressed fellow.

I looked right at him like a bully.

"Oga wetin happen? Why are you here?" I asked

"I'm sorry if I have disturbed your personal time, I just want to have few words with you" He said.

"Be quick with it, its almost light out and I no fit chop frog jump o"

"It's okay, I will be quick with it, I just want you to tell you to please leave Britney for me, please, she's my life, I've been dating this lady since we were in Greenwich,  I worked out everything to be here  with her but you are her distraction, please, let me right my wrongs with her, I am begging you as a  brother, I know Yetunde likes you, you can be with her and let me be with Britney please, I beg of you" he pleaded .

It was the best time to strike because he was like a naked corn ready to be roasted.

"Is that why you told her parents that I was the reason why she was punished because she stayed out late with me? Is that why? You lied and think you can gey away with it? Well, I don't have anything to say to you please, you already blew that chance" I said and wrapped myself back on my bed.

It was time out already and I was ready to sleep when a WhatsApp message came on my phone, it was a picture from Yetunde, I opened it and it was a picture that got me looking owlishly.

It was a picture of her bosoms. 

She gave it a caption.

"Do have a succulent night rest baby"

Chai...this geh wee nur kee me.

THE CAMP.  Episode 11

I stared at the picture for a while and I almost got caught after light out. I closed my eyes and started wondering why Yetunde took it this far. I understand that she might have feelings for me and probably want to feel some cassava but the camp wasn't the best place to do such because just few days back some people were caught having sex.

It wasn't even between young lads, it was between a married woman and a young guy. They were caught at night in the container of the dry cleaners and they were sent home, these were the thoughts in my mind when I couldn't stop staring at what she went to me.

"Devil get behind me, I shall not be a victim of sex scandal in this camp, Yetnde will not send me home " I closed my eyes and slept and the night went by. The following day was our social night and they listed the artistes that were coming.

Orezi and one guy from chocolate city, it was a night we were all anticipating especially when we were told some comedians would also be there.

That doesn't also affect our drama and dance practice. The day was a light one, I went to sit under a big tree that was far away from the parade ground because i needed some time to myself. Britney's call came in but I ignored it. She sent me a text.

" you don't have to ignore my call Ade, I just want to tell you what happened last night" 

When I saw this message I was shocked, what happened?, I called her back immediately and she picked, after ranting that I didn't pick her call she said Yetunde came to her hostel to tell her about me.  I didn't get the gist so I requested that we see,  I described where I was and she met me there few minutes later.

I was curious.

"What happened between you and Yetunde last night? " I asked and She laughed out loud.

"Nothing actually happened, when you didn't pick my call, I thought of what could get your attention so I lied because I really wanted to see you and talk.

I heaved a deep sigh.

"You don't have to do this ypu know, I am not avoiding you, I just  need time alone and that's it"

"It's fine, I just want to tell you that I want us to sit in same place tonight, I am trying to avoid Ben, he has been acting weird these days and I'm not sure I'm safe around him anymore. Please let me sit beside you " she said and I asked why me.

She said because I have planted a kind of fear in his heart unlike Bayo that he almost hit at mammy market when he saw him with her.

Bayo was in Platoon 3 but same hostel with us, he liked Britney because of her accent and Ben had gone to bully and threaten him off Britney.

Ben dares to threaten me, I was not butty, I was a confirm pakororo and I doubt he could survive my fist. I wanted to tell her what he told me the previous day but I kept it to my self.  

I tried as much as possible to ignore Yetunde because a gaze at her would bring back the memory of what she sent to me the previous night. I told Britney not to worry, I'll be there for her, she immediately went back to her hostel.

Yetunde didn't call me throughout that day, she didn't even show up at the handball training. It was time time drama rehearsal and I left to the rehearsal ground, on my way, I saw a lady walking towards me.

She had the exact face of my ex that served me breakfast, the lady my heart belonged  to.  She passed me by and I turned and followed her.

"Hello, please can I have a moment with you" j said and she stopped immediately. 

"My name is....."

"Ade....I know you"  she interrupted. 

I was surprised.

"How did you know me please, I don't remember where I know you" I said. 

"Don't worry  about that but how may I help you, what is the exact thing that made the Almighty Ade follow me when he has the pretty foreign lady running after him, I am no where near her beauty, why aren't you giving in even when she tells everyone that made advances at her that you are her boyfriend"  she chuckled and continued. 

"Foreign babe see fine boy" she said and chuckled.

I was dumbfounded.

I wanted to talk but started stammering. 

"What are you talking about? Where did you hear all these from, I dont even know you and you poured out all these" I exclaimed.

"You don't have to know, a friend of mine asked her out and she told him the same thing,  i got to know you more because you are in the drama and dance group. Well, that aside, how may I help you"  she asked.

I didn't know what to say. 

I watched her as she walked away. I stood like a stunted tree, someone came and covered my eyes from the back,  it was Yetunde.

She came forward and hugged me.

"Where have you been? You didn't even call me today, how is tonight going to be? Let's hide somewhere to have fun" She said.

I knew what she meant but I wasn't ready to risk it, on the other hand I had promised britn that we would be together.

I didn't answer any of her questions.

Because dem don finally cast me.
